Elijah Craig Band are a great british 4pc band located in Blackpool on the Fylde coast. They consist of an /Electric/Bass//Drums combination. From this eclectic mix of instruments comes a great sound. The band play a wide range of material in their own inimitable style, from well known covers through to their own catchy material. The unique sound they achieve is from the way these seasoned performers react with each other musically.
Elijah Craig Band was started by the meeting of the guitarist /songwriter Craig Green and the ex bass player from the 80′s band the “Stiffs” Nick Alderson. Nick had developed an accompaniment finger -picking style of acoustic playing that Craig thought may sound good on the selection of songs that he had just written. Nick background at this time was contemporary folk and whilst Craig’s material was not folk by nature (his was a blues background) Nicks natural timing would prove useful and important in the songs being played. They got on musically and started arranging the material for performances in 2010.
After a number of set up gigs around Lancashire the guys started to tour around the more obscure venues of the Lancashire/Cumbria area, with their mix of slide/Cajan/country feel they were well received where they played. After a time however it became apparent that a bass would be beneficial to the sound they were trying to develop, and so employed the services of bass player Clive Dove who quickly offered the sound the guys were after. Clive brought the distinctive sound of the double bass to the mix and it fitted perfectly. The core sound of the band was complete. Many gigs followed however it became apparent that whilst the band were comfortable without any drums the material required the presence of percussion to liven up the sound. During this period Nick worked tirelessly to promote the band Also at this time Craig was actively pursuing an electric avenue for the material which was morphing into a far more rockier/bluesy feel altogether. Also during this period the Ex “Headhunters” Rhythm guitarist James Thomson had joined the band to offer rhythmic support to Nicks more technical style and offer harmony vocals to the tracks and with the addition of Phil Marlow on drums and percussion the core of the band was complete. Unfortunately due to work commitments Clive left the band and so Nick moved to his traditional instrument the bass to leave us with the current line up.

The material the band play covers a wide range of styles the heart of which is predominantly a blues/rock fusion played in our own inimitable way. Our own compositions vary from soulful blues songs to uptempo rock songs for variation.
